¡HIJOLE!
Salsa so hot, you’ll be shouting ¡HIJOLE!
At Híjole, we offer a new heavy hitter chiltepin salsa to supermarket shelves for those who love to live spicy! Based out of Del Rio, Texas, our salsa’s heat is sourced primarily from the border town’s native peppers, Capsicum annuum var. glabriusculum—AKA, Chiltepin Peppers.

our story
¡HIJOLE! was created to honor my Abuelita, Irma, who to this day makes the spiciest of salsas. Her salsa verde in particular will have even the most spice experienced person end up with a shock to their system!
Trying out those batches of salsas has been a part of my life, every visit made down to Del Rio, Texas—whether it be topped on breakfast tacos, taco tapitios, carne guisada, it make the dish have so much more of a kick.
The jars used are also meant to resemble your classic, grandmother’s multipurpose jar, that would hold an assortment of different salsas or even beans.
Please note that this brand was created as a passion project, and is not a real product. Although, I would love to make that happen someday.
